From the 1954 to 1975, Saigon was the capital of South Vietnam. Since July, 1976, Vietnam has been a unified country under the communist regime. Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh city. Nowadays, Ho Chi Minh city is the center for economy, education and commerce in Vietnam. YOUR TOUR IS PRIVATE. I WILL ONLY SPEND THE TIME WITH YOU AND THE PERSON(S) YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH. Up to now, I have completed about 200 private tours for a lot of travelers on many different ships which are managed by cruise lines such as Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Cunard Line, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean that dock at Phu My port. **Note: This tour is for pick up and drop off at Phu My Port. The distance between Phu My port and the center of Saigon city is about 70 km (about 1 hour and 20 minute drive). I am here to assist you with any inquiries. The driver and I will meet you with a sign bearing your name at Phu My port gate. The Phu My port gate is 8 to 15 minute walk from the ship, or, alternatively, you can use the shuttle bus to get to Phu My port gate. Then we will take you to Saigon city. In the city, we will see the places as follows; •The pagoda, some famous highlights of the city, markets, the old US embassy( now the US general consulate), the roof of an apartment building off where the last chopper picked up evacuees one day before the fall of Saigon and other exciting activities. If you wish to have lunch, I can show you to the place where you can dine on delicious Vietnamese food with very reasonable price. For me, the most important thing is your satisfaction. I am very flexible about the itinerary to ensure you can see a lot of interesting places and eat delicious Vietnamese dishes on your tour. It is the REAL Saigon experience! A tour to remember.
