We had a wonderful morning with Alba, who provided an excellent introduction to Seville. Knowledgeable, warm, and interesting, she was a perfect guide for our family of four (two teenage children).

Seville's Viewpoint and Roman Ruins Express Tour
Álvaro started off the tour with a brief history lesson, which helped to give context around what we would be seeing on the tour. He definitely knew his stuff and was able to answer most questions. I very much enjoyed my tour with Álvaro and would book another tour with him, next time I'm in Seville.

Seville Express Introductory Tour
Maria was excellent. She was knowledgeable, patient, friendly and flexible. We really got a good flavor of the area from Maria. We only wish we could have had more time. She did a great job adjusting the plans to our desires and needs. She told some really great historical stories/details that allowed us to get a good feel for the place and more than just hearing dates and names of kings/queens. Additionally, Maria's English language capability was very good.

More ways to experience Seville

This is Seville, the soulful city of Spain where flamenco echoes off the cobbled streets and tapas bars enliven every corner. Historic plazas buzz against a backdrop of awe-inspiring architecture, while orange-scented gardens offer tranquility.

Explore Seville off the beaten path

Wander a little off-route and find alternative things to do, like small workshops, neighborhood stages, and easy viewpoints by the river that locals enjoy after work.

Cultural experiences: In the late morning, slip into the Corralón de Artesanos on Calle Castellar to watch ceramicists and leatherworkers at their benches. After dark, grab a chair at Peña Flamenca Torres Macarena for a raw, intimate show among regulars.

Small museums and galleries: Cross to Centro Cerámica Triana to see kilns, tile patterns, and makers’ marks from the riverfront factories. Then walk to Casa Fabiola – Colección Bellver, a townhouse packed with 19th‑century Sevillian painting and sculpture. For something current, Delimbo Gallery shows street‑art‑leaning exhibitions in a compact white cube.

Less crowded scenic viewpoints: Ride the lift up Torre de los Perdigones in late afternoon for river and dome views without the rush. Stay for sunset at the Torre Mirador of the Pabellón de la Navegación on Isla de la Cartuja to watch the Guadalquivir glow.

Shop for local products & souvenirs: Thursday morning, browse El Jueves flea market on Calle Feria for prints, lace, and odd antiques. For tiles you can pack, try Populart Triana or the showroom of Cerámica Santa Ana on Calle San Jorge. Ask for small azulejo coasters or a signed plate—they’ll wrap them well for the trip.

Popular neighbourhoods

Seville boasts vibrant neighbourhoods, brimming with Andalusian charm and lively culture at every turn.

Santa Cruz: Lose yourself in the labyrinth of whitewashed alleyways adorned with colourful hanging flowers and filled with the aroma of orange blossoms.

Triana: Get a true taste of flamenco culture, with spontaneous performances filling narrow, lively streets. Visit authentic ceramics workshops, a legacy from the area’s Moorish past.

El Arenal: Indulge the senses at Seville’s boisterous food market. The smell of fresh produce, sound of haggling vendors, and sight of colourful stalls energize this food lover’s paradise.

Centro: Step into the core of Seville's old city, where you can admire the stunning Cathedral and Giralda tower, icons of Seville's historical skyline.

Macarena: Experience Seville's history firsthand by exploring ancient Roman walls, and take a momentous walk around the impressive Macarena Basilica.

Things to do in Seville by season

Spring: Orange blossom scents the streets and mild days make this the best time to visit. Watch Semana Santa processions move through hushed lanes, then see Feria de Abril burst into colour with music, horses and casetas where families linger and couples dance late.

Summer: Heat pushes life into the evening, so wander the Guadalquivir at sunset, slip into cool courtyards for flamenco, and savour late-night tapas. Plan slower mornings for seniors, with rooftop dinners and shaded palaces keeping luxury travellers comfortable.

Fall: Softer light returns to plazas and markets, with vineyard flavours and gallery openings setting an easy pace. Stroll María Luisa Park, catch autumn flamenco cycles, and enjoy fewer crowds at royal landmarks.

Winter: Christmas in Seville glows with nativity scenes, twinkling lights along Avenida de la Constitución and the Three Kings parade in January. Warm up with stews and sherries, and take quiet walks among orange trees in near-empty cloisters.

Through the year, Holy Week and the April Fair anchor the calendar, while Triana’s Velá de Santa Ana adds summer charm along the river. In autumn, the Bienal de Flamenco (biennial) and the Seville European Film Festival fill theatres and patios, drawing culture lovers without rushing the city’s unhurried rhythm.
