Full Day Shore Excursion in Seoul, Incheon
I had a fantastic tour with Lee, the communication was excellent before the tour, and the day itself was hugely enjoyable, and I would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys hiking! Lee even sent a message following the tour which provided a summary of the sites that I had seen and some suggestions for what I could do during my afternoon. 5 stars!

Easy Hiking in Seoul (Ansan, Inwangsan, Achasan or any other mountains)
Pam was so passionate about Seoul, knowledgeable and gracious. She was a perfect fit for our family. We covered a lot of group (over 17K steps!) but we never felt rushed. She knew all the best routes, tasty stops (the food was amazing) and must-sees. Her English was beautiful.

Seoul Private Tour: Walking+Public Transportation
We had the privilege of joining a private guided tour of the DMZ with Sang Gil Lee (Steve) and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, everything was well organized, smooth, and comfortable. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also warm, engaging, and attentive, making sure we understood the complex history while also leaving room for reflection. The private format gave us the chance to ask questions freely, move at our own pace, and really take in the atmosphere of each site. It felt both educational and deeply meaningful. Visiting the DMZ is powerful on its own, but having such a thoughtful and professional guide made it so much more special. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to gain a deeper understanding of Korean history and the ongoing significance of the DMZ. Truly a highlight of our trip! Thank you so much!

More ways to experience Seoul

Seoul, where ultra-modern vibrancy intertwines with ancient traditions, offers rewards at every corner. The skyline – a vibrant tapestry of skyscrapers - dances with neon hues as the sun sets, reflecting the city's impressive forward momentum. Yet, things to do in Seoul dip into the past as readily as they reach towards the future. Feel the age-old hum of the Gyeongbokgung Palace or explore the winding lanes of Bukchon Hanok Village. Witness the shifting colors of Namsan Park as seasons change, or taste the lively flavours of street food markets. Seoul is a city alive, a symphony of sounds, sights and stories to explore.

Explore Seoul off the beaten path

Stir your curiosity with alternative things to do that slip you into everyday Seoul—quiet markets, lived-in alleys, and small spaces where locals linger after work.

Cultural experiences: Late morning, weave through Seoul Yangnyeongsi Herb Medicine Market, then soak your feet in a warm herbal bath at the Seoul K-Medi Center. After dark, squeeze into Euljiro Nogari Alley for a frosty beer and grilled dried pollack alongside office workers.

Small museums and galleries: Duck into Arario Museum in Space, a maze of contemporary art hidden inside architect Kim Swoo-geun’s ivy-clad building. The Ilmin Museum of Art near Gwanghwamun rotates crisp, thoughtful shows in compact halls. In Daehangno, the Lock Museum lines up quirky, old-world locks and keys that are easy to enjoy in under an hour.

Less crowded scenic viewpoints: Hike up Inwangsan in late afternoon for fortress-wall paths and wide views without the Namsan crowds. For sunset over the Han, climb Eungbongsan’s short trail; spring’s yellow forsythia makes the hill glow.

Shop for local products & souvenirs: In the afternoon, trawl Bangsan Market for hanji gift wrap, baking molds, and clever packaging you’ll actually use. Pick up ginseng tea blends and herbal candies around Yangnyeongsi’s apothecary stalls. If you like vintage, Hwanghak-dong flea market turns up enamelware and old vinyl, while Jipijigi in Seochon stocks handsome straw brooms and bamboo brushes.

Popular neighbourhoods

Immerse yourself in the pulsating rhythm of Seoul's lifestyles by embarking on an exploration of its diverse neighbourhoods. Discover tradition, modernity, tranquility, and vibrancy within these top choices.

Myeongdong: Dive into the bustling heart of the city, known for its vibrant shopping scene, ranging from high-end fashion to unique streetwear, along with an array of cosmetic shops and street food carts.

Hongdae: Move with the youthful energy of this district renowned for its urban arts, indie music culture, and dynamic nightlife. Street performances and local boutiques add to the youthful, eccentric charm of the area.

Insadong: Experience a traditional side of Seoul lined with teahouses, antique shops, art galleries, and craft shops. The sense of tranquility amidst a bustling city is amplified in this cosy neighbourhood.

Bukchon Hanok Village: Immerse in Korean tradition as you traverse through hundreds of beautifully preserved Hanok houses nestled in narrow alleyways, presenting a striking contrast to the towering modern skyscrapers in the distance.

Gangnam: Explore the stylish district made famous by the viral song 'Gangnam Style’. The glitz extends to extravagant fashion boutiques, luxury spas, and trendy eateries, defining the high life in Seoul.

Things to do in Seoul by season

Spring: Wander palace courtyards under cherry and azalea blossoms, then join the Lotus Lantern Festival ahead of Buddha’s Birthday as lanterns float and a parade sweeps through Jongno. Flat riverside paths on the Han make easy rides for families and seniors.

Summer: Seek shade in museum neighbourhoods and return to the river at dusk for breezy picnics, bike rentals, and casual cruises. Night markets spark up around Dongdaemun and the Hangang Summer Festival adds pop-up stages and water play that kids love.

Fall: Hike Namsan or Bukhansan under fiery maples, browse craft tea houses, and find traditional games during Chuseok cultural programs. The Seoul International Fireworks Festival bursts over Yeouido, a favourite for photographers and couples.

Winter: Follow illuminated artworks during the Seoul Lantern Festival along Cheonggyecheon and lace up at seasonal outdoor rinks by City Hall. Warm hands on street stalls serving hotteok and hop to nearby ski hills on clear, cold days.

Seoul’s staples return annually: Yeon Deung Hoe’s lantern parade each spring, the Seoul Bamdokkaebi Night Market through the warm months, the Kimchi Making & Sharing Festival in November, and the Seoul Lantern and Fireworks festivals lighting cooler nights.
