As we leave the city behind, the journey continues through emerald lakes and charming villages — landscapes that look as if they were painted for the big screen. The day’s grand finale is Hallstatt, a jewel of Austria and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its history, alpine setting, and timeless charm, Hallstatt feels like a fairytale brought to life. I’ll share with you not only the stories behind these famous places, but also my personal connection to the region I call home. By the end of the day, you’ll have seen Salzburg through the lens of cinema, history, and local life.
• 10:00 AM – Pick-up from your hotel in Salzburg. • Begin with the Sound of Music highlights in the city: ◦ Mirabell Gardens ◦ Leopoldskron Palace (the von Trapp Villa with its lakeside setting) ◦ Hellbrunn Palace with the famous gazebo • Continue into the Salzkammergut countryside: ◦ Fuschlsee – stop for photos of the emerald-green lake ◦ St. Gilgen – charming village on Lake Wolfgang ◦ Mondsee – visit the Wedding Church ◦ Scenic drive via Bad Ischl to Hallstatt • Arrive in Hallstatt, the highlight of the tour.
