I was born, raised, and educated in Belgium. My family is here, and I’ve spent almost my entire life immersed in the local culture. My experiences living in Turkey, Greece, Spain, and Germany for five years have given me a unique perspective on what makes Belgium truly special.

Travel through time in Antwerp on this 3-hour walking tour; From Antwerp's golden 16th century in which it was an economic and cultural metropole to its second golden age in the 19th century as a major colonial port. But Antwerp is a city of all times, including the current. Antwerp today is a diverse, lively, and vibrant city where history and present come together. This tour is a good introduction to the many faces of Antwerp with its highlights but also less visited places and hidden gems.

The tour not only focuses on the historical background (16th - 19th centuries, but also World War II) but also the present (political, economical, . . . but also local culture of Antwerp/Flanders/Belgium). But also famous Antwerp citizens such as Rubens and Van Dyck will pass by.

Antwerp is one of Europe's best kept secrets. It houses the second largest port in Europe, it is the world diamond capital and has a lot to offer for both the history lovers as well as the contemporary architecture enthusiasts.

During this tour I will show you the beautiful old city center. We'll pass city hall, the church designed by Rubens, hidden little streets, the old castle, and (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world.

But we'll also dive into local culture. I'll take you to the most authentic local spots in the city where we'll discover the best of Belgian food and beer. All the locations we go to are small, local businesses where the locals go. We'll try 3 local beers that beautifully represent the Belgian style (tasters: 15cl/4oz), some chocolate, local cheese, a belgian waffle and a few other local tasters.

If you'd like to not just discover the sights of the city, but also the local food and drink culture, then this is the tour for you.

During this tour I will show you the beautiful old city center. You will understand why our train station is consistently listed as one of the most beautiful in the world. Explore the stunning cathedral with its great works of art by Rubens and discover little hidden alleyways and squares. Learn about the golden age of Antwerp, its rich history and enjoy many stories of this incredible city.
