Embark on a breathtaking 2-day adventure through one of the deepest and most dramatic river canyons in the world – Tiger Leaping Gorge. Straddling the mighty Jinsha River, nestled between the snow-capped Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the Haba Snow Mountain, this legendary trail offers spectacular cliffside paths, roaring river views, and a chance to connect with the ancient Tea Horse Road’s history.
Day 1 – Lijiang/Shangri-La → Tea Horse Guesthouse → Halfway Guesthouse 08:00 – Pick up from hotel and drive to Qiaotou trailhead. 10:30 – Arrive at Tea Horse Guesthouse, short break. 11:00 – Begin hiking along the upper trail with panoramic views. 12:30 – Stop for photos and rest. 13:00 – Lunch at local spot or Halfway Guesthouse. 14:00 – Continue hiking to Halfway Guesthouse, famous for terrace views. 16:30 – Free time to explore and photograph scenery. 18:30 – Dinner and overnight stay at Halfway Guesthouse. Day 2 – Halfway Guesthouse → Teacher Zhang’s Guesthouse → Dumbfounding Rock → Lijiang/Shangri-La 07:30 – Breakfast at Halfway Guesthouse. 08:30 – Hike toward Teacher Zhang’s Guesthouse with cliff and river views. 11:00 – Short break at Teacher Zhang’s Guesthouse. 11:30 – Hike to Dumbfounding Rock viewpoint for photos. 13:30 – Begin descent to trail exit. 15:00 – Drive back to Lijiang or Shangri-La. 17:30 – Drop-off at hotel.

For your comfort and safety, transportation will be arranged based on your group size. We use either a spacious SUV or a comfortable mini van—both fully insured and well-maintained. Since this tour takes place in a high-altitude mountain region, we do not use regular sedans. Your ride will be powerful enough for steep terrain, yet smooth and quiet so you can enjoy the views along the way. All guests get a window seat!

Just let me know your hotel name and address when you book, and I’ll be there at 08:00 AM sharp in a comfortable, eco-friendly vehicle.
